Our dream is to educate, motivate and inspire others to go after their dreams no matter what. I created a motto years ago,”Change your Mind...Change your Life”. My goal for Taste of Love Catering is to train and license youth and those reentering the workforce, provide employment opportunity through our catering service and our vast variety of events and services we offer. Through the training I hope to instill integrity, work ethic, responsibility, accountability and also entrepreneurship.
About Our Family
Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; in an area where no matter what the event, there was always food. The mother of 4 young men and wife of an awesome husband. The owner and founder Shelita Furlow, surrounded herself around coaching basketball and food. Who knew that after 10 seasons of coaching basketball, with culinary arts in her back pocket; that the tides would turn, and she’d be coaching in a whole new arena. Taste of Love Catering began in the early 2000’s yet in 2016, she decided to make her dream official and open up her talents and skill-set for serving and catering beyond the kitchens of family and friends, after she graduated from a culinary and job training program, that allowed her to receive culinary certifications. Shelita Furlow is self taught, with influences from around the culinary world and continues to study in a broad array of fashions to keep and maintain her creative edge. She calls herself a fusionist, because of her love for mixing cultures and cuisines to bring out unique and delicious dishes that satisfies even the pickiest of the pickiest. She hopes that through food and service, you feel uplifted and taste the love that she pours out in every recipe, whether it is an old tried and true or something customized for you.
